Nova etiketa za novo izdanje Benjamina
Fingera. Deo igre kojom Finger, zabavljajući sebe, zabavlja i
nas.
svetu, Finger koristi prazan
prostor, a ako mu ga zatreba još i više. proširuje ga izostavljajući
rosterom ( Spherulus, Aaron Martin, Bill
Seaman, Danny Clay, Twincities….)
Benjamin Finger releases his sixth studio album on Eilean Rec. which is a label based in
France. It is run and curated by Mathias
Van Eecloo who also produces music as Monolyth
& Cobalt. It sounds as if Finger is both entertaining himself and the
audience on his latest record called Pleasurably
Lost. I tend to think that Finger´s releases is an oasis of optimism. His
records are full of hypnotic reminiscences of childhood memories and contains a
vivid interplay between Eros and Thanatos. And with a proper effort, one
can catch hints of positive deverb. Musically, Finger is the supervisor and
manipulator of his own living tissue, often leading you on the right path -
which is his advantage contrary to the often banal chasing through genres and
popularity. It´s more fun this way and I doubt that he can do it any
differently (if he tried). In his own patent musical world, Finger strongly
emphasises empty space, and if he has the chance to go even further, then
he often avoids words or full sentences. Natural, with an organic salad
made up of field recordings, guitars and piano, this absolutely defines
Finger´s momentum.
In the end I´ll mention that
the album was dedicated to the polish writer Witold Gombrowicz and his book Ferdydurke,
although you can easily listen to this album without this knowledge - the album
is a journey on its own.
